Alois Machačík is born on September 26, 1888, to a poor family in the Bohemian town of Loukov (Lukau). As a soldier in World War I, he joins the Czechoslovak Legion, where he is promoted to first lieutenant and fights on the side of France. He later becomes a career officer in the Czechoslovakian army, and eventually reaches the rank of general. A close friend of Srstka, he already belongs to the ON before becoming in involved in aid actions within the ÚVOD. On January 19, 1942, he is arrested, and on June 1, 1943, Alois Machačík is murdered together with his friends in Plötzensee.
