Guided Tours

Each guided tour lasts approx. 75 minutes. The content focuses on the history of the site and biographies of individuals active in the resistance against National Socialism who were murdered in Plötzensee by the unjust Nazi justice system.

The focus can be adjusted to the needs of each group.

Guided tours take place in German, English, and French. Bookings can be made for groups from 10 to 50 people.

Seminars

The seminar Exploration on the Path of Remembrance has a duration of approx. 2.5 hours. The program is aimed at school students from the age of 14, as well as all other interested groups of young people and adults.

Following a joint tour of the Plötzensee Memorial Center, the participants form small groups to look at selected biographies of individuals from the resistance. They work with biographical material, photos, and documents. The focus is on how and why people resisted the National Socialist regime, and what scope they had to act under the conditions of dictatorship and war.

During a walk on the Path of Remembrance through Berlin’s North Charlottenburg memorial area, participants present the results of their research at sites relevant to the biographies. They reflect and discuss the material as a group. The exploration ends at the Church of Atonement on Halemweg.

Combined Educational Program
Visit to Plötzensee Memorial Center and German Resistance Memorial Center

We accompany a combined visit to the Plötzensee Memorial Center and the German Resistance Memorial Center, with a duration of approx. 3 to 5 hours. By visiting both sites, participants gain a wide insight into the history of the resistance against National Socialism and the regime’s reaction. The educational programs at the two memorial centers build on one another and consolidate participants’ knowledge.
